ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for Schools (ASK) programme have been commissioned by the National Apprenticeship Service, part of the Education Skills
Funding Agency and DfE, to support the Government’s target of achieving 3 million apprenticeship starts by 2020. We would like to take this opportunity to ensure you are fully aware of this programme
and the free services on offer to your establishment from September 2018 -July 2019.
Our advisors are here to help with apprenticeship focused
activities including a planning meeting (telephone or face to face) to help identify what support your school/college may need. We encourage at least 4 activities throughout the year Apprenticeship
talks / Year 10-13 Assemblies supported by an apprentice ambassador. Parent networking opportunities. Interactive sessions including mock assessment/interview guidance / writing a winning
application. Group sessions for Year 11-13 students about registering on the find an apprenticeship website, searching local vacancies and setting up alerts so they don’t miss out on future
vacancies. Group sessions for Year 11-13 students to help apply for apprenticeship vacancies (where appropriate and relevant). Teacher apprenticeship CPD support. We have also included some useful
teacher and students guides which we hope you may find beneficial in promoting apprenticeships during careers advice sessions. If you would like further support, please visit the ‘Amazing
Apprenticeships’ website and complete the ‘Request Support’ tab for the North region. You can also contact me directly, thank you.
